Ways homecoming can be improved

In September, B-UHS and other surrounding schools celebrated their homecoming week, full of the games, dances, door decorations, coronations, and more. After a week of fun and games, and a nearly flawless homecoming, the question arose, being how does one make homecoming better than it is?

An answer common among students at Buckhannon-Upshur is the venue, because the building it is hosted in has bad AC and isn’t incredibly nice-looking. Student Kiley Landis said they should have French fries at homecoming. Other people have said that the concession stand workers should sell chicken and fruit cups. Another popular suggestion was to ramp up the music. People affirmed that the DJ played colt 45, which is not a great song for that event.

When Keelin Howes was asked what kind of homecoming theme she would like to see in the future, her responses were: The Wizard of Oz, The Great Gatsby, Candy Land, Harvest Moon, Hollywood movie premiere, Under the Sea, Monster Mash, and Night on Manhattan. Lori Lycett, another student, added that the homecoming dance needed more decorations, like props and streamers.
