Buckhannon dogs and their human companions
are jumping for joy over the newest addition to the Riverwalk at WVWC. A
grand opening was held to welcome citizens to the first dog park in Upshur
County. Alex Edwards, a B-U student, thinks the park is a great idea. Alex
said, “I think it will be a good gathering place for people in the community.
It will serve as a well-structured outlet for the dogs, as well as providing
an easy, free and positive atmosphere for dog owners.” When asked if she
thought she would be visiting the dog park, she responded, “Yes! I have
two dogs that would enjoy the dog park tremendously, and also, I’m such a dog
lover that I just can’t stay away!”
Rachel Long, a fellow student, shared that
she feels it is a very well put together park for the dogs, but added that she
hopes they will add more fun attractions for the dogs. Rachel expressed concern
for the park, saying she would like to see the fencing and surrounding area a
bit more secure, in case a dog would loose itself from its owner.
