Every student who walks the halls of our
school, or any school, lives a completely different life from everyone else. Each
one has his or her own motivations, routines, and behaviors. In most schools,
students have certain groups of friends they spend their time with. Even though
majority of the students in schools range from the same age group, a lot of
kids go through completely different situations. Lots of credit is given to
kids who excel in sports or extra activities, but we don’t always give credit
to the kids who show up and work hard at school all day.
“There is a difference in how students live
their lives, especially when it comes to the household you grow up in,” says
student Mikayla Scott. There are kids who believe the amount of money they have
or the sport the play makes them more prone to success. These kids think they
can treat others less than what they are. “Certain students treat others
differently because of the social class they stand in or the hobbies they
enjoy,” Mikayla Scott states. Each person goes through different things in
their lives; just because every student isn’t involved in a school activity or
have the most friends, does not mean they should be treated any differently.
There are kids working to pay bills,
focusing on school to make something of themselves. Not every person you pass
in the hallway has a picture-perfect family/life. Peop le need to be aware of the way we treat people and the
credit they give them. A student says, “You never know what goes on behind
closed doors, and it’s not fair to only reward the students you notice in a
crowd.” There are many differences in the lives of students and each should be
taken into consideration.
