Selena Gomez isn't happy about her younger
teenage days on Disney Channel. Gomez, now 25-years-old, rose to fame on Disney
Channel when she starred on “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Disney Channel spotted
her on “Barney & Friends” and immediately recruited her their business.
Although Selena was in the spotlight, most
of her memories are negative. The actress, singer, and songwriter said that it
was all fun to her while she was little, but when she became a teenager, it all
changed. She says as she got older, the truth started to become exposed. Media
made her feel uncomfortable and she says she couldn't even walk on the beach
without them following her with cameras. “As a guy, I can understand why the
media would be interested in her, but also they should respect her privacy,” a
source stated.
“I can understand why Selena Gomez may
have felt violated. She was a pretty, young girl that everyone liked or had an
interest in,” says Caroline Fluke. Gomez says these feelings followed her all
throughout her teenage years, but something changed when she turned eighteen.
She fell in love with her then-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, and took a break from
fame in 2012 until 2014, when her solo album debuted. Gomez took another break
in 2016 when she admitted herself into an all-female treatment center to help
her anxiety and panic attacks. “As a little girl, I always looked up to Selena
and watched Wizards of Waverly place. If I were in her shoes, I would've felt the
same way with all the media.”
