This year's B-UHS Cheer team has
experienced a lot of changes since last school year, and is expected to adjust
to more as time goes on. Junior Lindsey Howell told us, "We have had a lot
of changes, but it's nothing that we can't handle. We have a new coach and our
team is a lot younger based this year. We lost a lot of seniors last year, but
we have enough talent to make up for it."
When asked how it was to have a different
coach, she replied, "It's a lot different for sure, but it's not a bad
different. We have a very different routine and have been doing a lot of
choreography. I think we will do better at competitions this year; our hope is
to make it to states." Other than winning competitions, the cheerleaders
cheer on the sidelines to help encourage the school’s football and basketball
teams.
Two other juniors, Kylee Kessler and Brie
Hoffman, both agreed, "We enjoy the competitions more than the sideline
cheering. They are a lot more focused on our talents and are a lot more
exciting. We love meeting new people and making new friends there. That’s what
this sport is really all about." Kylee and Brie also agreed with Lindsey
that they think the team will do well this year, and they’ll hopefully make it
to states.
