The Multiverse Theory

Has the thought that another universe, alternate to our own, exists, ever crossed your mind? The multiverse theory, or the eternal chaotic inflation, is the theory that generates ever increasing numbers of universes parallel to our own. Many people believe in more than just what exists around them, imagining unexplored and unbelievable realities which are only just out of reach.

The multiverse theory was first created by Hugh Everett, a scientist who wished to explore all the possibilities hidden within space and time. Although his theory is hypothetical and not yet factually proven, the idea behind it has intrigued the populace. The infinite amount of compounding universes, stemming and branching from one another, brings infinite possibilities and potential for discoveries in our own and in other universes.

Although the multiverse theory is very strict, complex, and hard to prove, some decide to base what they believe about it on their own intellects and beliefs. Referencing this, when

asked about the multiverse, sophomore Caitlyn Wendling replied, “I believe

each universe or system of universes is existing within a bubble of matter we are not able to reach; whenever space-time is manipulated, that’s when we will get a glimpse of one or many parallel universes.” Caitlyn believes in the multiverse theory, combining her own beliefs with those theorized by Hugh Everett.

Samuel Walker, another sophomore student at B-UHS, acknowledges the multiverse. Samuel stated, “I think the multiverse theory is fun and exciting; I would live in a parallel universe if I was able. It’s a little strange to think there are consequences for every little action, and I’d like to experience that.” Samuel’s acknowledgement of the multiverse is one of excitement. His reaction is one of many filled with excitement because the multiverse brings about so many potentials.

Undoubtedly, this marvelous theory is interesting, but it is simply a theory, since scientists have not yet invented the technology to prove or disprove the multiverse. That doesn’t stop some people from believing in this outstanding assumption. B-UHS sophomore Korey Gaynor insists that the multiverse theory is more than just a theory. He states, “there is so much we haven’t discovered yet, even here on earth, so the possibility of more than one universe is definitely in my mind.” The possibilities strike the minds of those who choose to believe, and those possibilities cause nothing but pure interest in the theory that we are not alone, but rather mirror images of other splinters of ourselves.

Hugh Everett’s theory has piqued the interest of those who could additionally imagine more to life that what we know. Students at B-UHS are interested in the theory of the multiverse. Many do believe that it does exist and that it just hasn’t been discovered yet. This theory is by far one of the most interesting, and it is a possibility that there is more to be discovered, rather than just what is present on earth and in our solar system. Unfortunately, we are not able to prove whether this theory is more than just an idea, but it’s no less interesting and very captivating for the young minds of B-UHS’ students.
