Clubs at Buckhannon-Upshur High School

Clubs are the time and place for students to have fun. The point of the club period is to be a place where students can invest time in their hobbies, perform a good cause, or enrich their interests. There are many clubs to choose from, such as FFA, scrapbooking, cardmaking, hunting, chess, study halls, dancing, Rachel’s Challenge, YLA, theatre, etc.

Kenzie Crites favorite club in our school is YLA.

There are clubs for doing school work and clubs where students can enjoy themselves. “Study hall is a club where you can work on school work. Some clubs here to just have fun are sports, theatre, music appreciation, etc.” Clubs are all chosen by the students. Unlike enrichment, the club someone chooses is most likely going to be the club they get. Students have the choice of choosing one to help with their school work or choose one that they will have fun in. It is all based on what each person chooses and what they like.

Playing games, making cards, talking about something a student is passionate about, such as hunting, FFA, or maybe math. Some students like the choices they have, whereas others would like to have something different. It is hard to choose things that every student in the school likes. Cameron Snider would like to have FFA clubs, chess and other games, and clubs to play video games such as Call of Duty, 2k18, and Modern Warfare.
